AKC STAR Puppy Class-Saturday mornings beginning 2/29/2020 from 9:30a-10:30a for all mixed and purebred dogs under 1 yr old (if over 1 yr old they can take this class but would not be eligible for the AKC certificate). This is a beginner class.
Practicing the Basics Class- Saturday mornings beginning 2/29/2020 from 10:45a-11:45a for dogs that have completed a beginner class.
Please join Janis Copes from Escape the Crate, LLC for this informative 6 week course designed to help you, the handler, learn how to get the behavior you want from your dog using positive reinforcement techniques. These classes will give you the tools for solving problems such as housebreaking, chewing, mouthing, jumping and more. Lessons will include teaching sit, down, come, stay, walk on loose lead, and interact with people without jumping. The goal is to teach your dog to be a polite family member.
Advanced registration is required. No refunds are given for classes missed. Dogs are required to be vaccinated against rabies as per CT State Law. Vaccinations against distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and Bordetella are also recommended. Proof of Rabies vaccination is required prior to the first class. No dog will be allowed in class without up-to-date Rabies vaccination.
Equipment required: Flat buckle collar or front clip harness (no choke, prong or e-collars allowed), 6 foot leash and yummy treats.

ALL REGISTRATION FORMS AND CERTIFICATE OF RABIES MUST BE GIVEN TO THE PARK & RECREATION OFFICE BEFORE THE 1ST CLASS.
